Ame Barnbrook was born missing no arms and only one leg. She is able to be self sufficent by means of a motor chair, but despite this Ame has been able to be a strong competitor in Paralympic Sailing, and is hoping to make the trials for 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
She is able to compete with others by steering with her three toes, and welcomes this challenge. She says "Getting out of the chair is fantastic, just being able to move in a different way besides being on wheels and feeling every single bump going over the ground. It is a good way of being out there, and also you can compete against people that are able bodied as well, they don't necessarily have to have disabilities to be able to compete against them."
